The EASZ-1 was designed to measure the level of water content
polluting oils. Water can seriously reduce system efficiency,
promoting wear and affecting safety.
The EASZ-1 makes it possible for end users to monitor online
and in real time the amount of water contamination in a line.
Online measurement of water content in oil is the most reliable
means of monitoring changes in the percentages or parts per million
of water content over time. The EASZ-1 will allow users to see
trends in water . Spot sampling is carried out on a regular basis
by maintenance personnel and consultants and can help determine
water content in the line at the time the sample was extracted,
but it is impossible to see trends in water increase or decrease
unless a huge number of samples are taken several times a day.
This can be very costly, time consuming and inconvenient.

can be easily installed and an analog signal can be taken to a
PLC, control room monitoring system or a local/remote display.
Set points can be determined on each application and the EASZ-1
can trigger an alarm when water levels reach a point which might
be considered critical by end users.
TECHNOLOGY
The EASZ-1 uses a proven technology in the oil and gas sector
which has now been applied to the general hydraulic industry.
The EASZ-1 is an accurate and robust resistive capacitance meter
measuring between two co-axis pipes. By applying a sinusoidal
signal with a known amplitude and frequency to the inner pipe
it is possible to measure the resistive capacitance of the liquid
under test. Oil can absorb a certain amount of water at certain
temperatures and when the amount reaches the saturation point,
the water will drop out of the oil and become "free water"
The EASZ-1 measures TOTAL water content and it does not matter
if the water is in its absorbed form or free form because the
instrument will still report total water. In addition, the EASZ-1
has a built in temperature sensor for more accurate online measurements.
