| The EASZ-1DC
Oil Quality Analyzer can indicate the quality and condition
of your oil or any liquid where measurement of dielectric
strength can indicate changes in a fluid make up that is important
and necessary information to maintenance departments. The
unit fits into an existing line or bypass and is loop powered.
Dielectric strength -Dielectric constant can be scaled to
an analog output or a remote display with a simple dielectric
test.
A classic application for the EASZ-1DC is through comparative
operation. It is able to show changes in oil or chemical
condition affected by water content, fuel contamination,
metallic content and oxidation due to a change in dielectric
properties being measured.
Although it may not always be possible to know the exact
cause, the EASZ-1DC will always pick up a change in dielectric
readings and alert maintenance personnel that immediate
investigation is necessary. These results in turn provide
an indication of the loss of lubricating properties of the
oil and also of and mechanical wear in the equipment in
which the oil is used. A good clear clean dry oil for example
without water or metal particle contaminants from a certain
supplier will always show relatively similar dielectric
properties between containers and suppliers are responsible
to maintain this initial quality relative to international
standards. When initially used in a system for example a
dielectric of 2.2 . The presence of a contaminant such as
water (with a dielectric of 80) present in the line in tiny
amounts will immediately change (and in this case increase)
the dielectric constant .

Principle of Operation:
Dielectric reporting is the mechanism used by EASZ-1 Oil
Analyzer to check oil. The dielectric constant of the oil
inline can be noted as the "good" oil reference . Over time,
changes will occur and a different and the used oil as compared
to that of new oil of the same type will have other dielectric
properties. The dielectric constant is a measure of oil's
ability to store energy. Uncontaminated new oil products
store very little energy. However, as oil is used, contaminates
such as wear metals, acids, moisture, and fuel soot carbons
enter the oil. All of these contaminates elevate oil's ability
to store energy and the EASZ-1DC detects these increases
and converts then into a numerical output. By monitoring
the increases, we can determine the level of contamination
within the oil.
By recording and comparing the level of contaminates in
the fluids over time it is possible to perform a trend analysis.
Thresholds can be established for Filter change intervals,
complete oil analysis, and if necessary, a complete oil
and filter change. The information on dielectric constant
can be kept on hand or the information transferred to a
computer for long-term trend analysis
When properly utilized the maintenance person knows the
condition of the lube oil within the equipment and can reduce
the manpower and resources needed for excessive complete
oil analysis i.e. a change in dielectric constant will alert
the user of the an impending problem in a particular process
area.
